The WS Aware allows permanent monitoring and the logging of all detected events via a power data outlet either by a Facility Monitoring System (FMS) or a digital MODBUS interface, for the network via Ethernet network. WS Aware is designed to monitor the impedance of two low-ohmic grounding connections (e.g. for tools, soldering irons, machines) and two high-ohmic ones (e.g. table-mats) grounding connections.
In addition, EMI voltages occurring on the low-ohmic grounding connections are monitored and displayed by a yellow LED when exceeding the set thresholds.
The alarm threshold are adjustable. If there is an exceeding of the set thresholds, LEDs display this optionally (OK green, alarm red, EMI voltage yellow). Additionally, this can be shown by acoustic alarm; this function can be switched off. Not used inlets are deactivated via a DIP switch and displayed by dark LEDs.
Two double-conductor wrist straps (operator and visitor) are monitored with by remote terminals that are connected to WS Aware via cable and can be mounted e.g. on the table's base. Bleeder resistance and body voltage are permanently monitored. With terminals having a Big Brother function a photo sensor recognizes a person who is at the workstation and releases alarm, when there is no grounding through the remote terminal. Thus, working at the workstation without grounding is prevented.
