ESD finger cots are disposable covers for individual fingers that are used in electrostatically protected areas (EPA) to protect electronic components from electrostatic discharge and contamination from skin particles or moisture. They are used when a full glove is not required, for example during precise assembly or inspection work.
Versions made of natural rubber latex, biodegradable latex and nitrile are available, which differ in terms of elasticity, skin compatibility and chemical resistance. Depending on the type, the finger cots have antistatic or conductive properties - either to prevent charging or to dissipate electrostatic charge in a targeted manner. All variants are suitable for use with touchscreens.
