NEON 1 ESD swivel chair (without upholstery) Bimos
The Neon 1 ESD swivel chair by bimos offers effective ESD protection through the use of volume-conductive plastic and conductive comfort cushions, compliant with ESD standard DIN EN 61340-5-1. This model features a permanent contact backrest and conductive glides, with a seat height adjustable between 45 and 62 cm. The backrest is 57 cm high and provides optimal support in the lumbar region due to its ergonomically shaped design.The chair allows a seat tilt adjustment up to 9° and a seat depth adjustment, which permits individual adaptation to the user's body size. The counter pressure of the backrest is individually adjustable to accommodate different weight loads. The base is made of black, polished aluminum and the ability to quickly and easily exchange the cushion elements enhances the functionality and durability of the chair.
The chair is GS-certified, meets the standard DIN 68877, and carries a maximum of 120 kg. It is available without armrests, with the option to add 4D armrests. The casters are replaced by conductive glides, further enhancing ESD protection. The chair is available in various colors such as Happy orange, Mars green, Ocean blue, and Cool grey.

ESD suitability - the chair for reliable discharge
The discharge of electrostatic voltages in the ESD NEON is made possible by all materials and the connection technology. Castors and glides discharge voltages directly into the floor, but the plastic back shell, the upholstery and the coated steel parts are also conductive.
At all EPAs (ESD Protected Areas), the aim is to consistently prevent charging and uncontrolled discharge. The DIN EN 61340-5-1 standard specifies the required resistances for this, but the Bimos ESD Neon meets even stricter requirements.

Ergonomics - adjustment functions - people are the measure
No aspect of the workplace has as great an impact on health as ergonomic design. This is why the ESD NEON swivel chair is not only the basis for efficiency and error-free work, but also for physically healthy employees and a reduction in sick days. The numerous adjustment options make sitting comfortable and lead to a safe feeling during daily work.
1. Height adjustment
The height adjustment is used to adapt to body height and workstation height. With up to 280 mm, the adjustment range for Neon is particularly wide.
2. Seat tilt adjustment
With this adjustment, the seat surface can be tilted forwards at an angle of up to 9° in combination with the backrest. The seat tilt adjustment guarantees a seat angle between the back and thigh of at least 90°. This function is particularly helpful when working in a forward-leaning position with little hand-eye distance.
3. Seat depth adjustment
With the seat depth adjustment, the seat surface can be adjusted by 60 mm. This creates the ideal support surface for the thighs and adapts to the individual physique of the employee.
4. Backrest height adjustment
The backrest height can be adjusted by up to 60 mm to provide optimum support for the lumbar vertebrae - regardless of body height.
5. Weight regulation
The backrest counterpressure can be continuously adjusted for weights between 50 and 120 kg using a rotary lever. This enables all employees to sit dynamically.
6. Anti-shock lock
An anti-shock lock prevents the backrest from inadvertently moving forward after the lock is released.
Cover materials - conductive upholstery
To guarantee the safe dissipation of electrostatic charges, the upholstery from Bimos is also conductive and offers maximum comfort at the same time. Despite the high requirements in the ESD area, there are four upholstery variants to choose from.
1 - Synthetic leather Magic ESD
Conductive synthetic leather upholstery Magic for soft, comfortable “air cushion sitting”. Slip-resistant, washable, easy to clean, resistant to oils, grease, dust and disinfectants.
2 - Supertec ESD
Particularly soft, comfortable upholstery consisting of breathable backing material and robust micro-armoring for a slip-resistant and cut-resistant surface, hard-wearing and easy to clean. Suitable for all areas of use except in the laboratory. The special durability not only ensures satisfaction, but also makes the cover a worthwhile investment.
3 - Integral foam ESD
Conductive integral foam upholstery for soft, comfortable "air cushion sitting". Washable, resistant to light acids, alkalis, oils and greases, as well as mechanical impacts and sharp-edged objects. The textured surface offers optimum climate comfort and slip resistance.
4 - Fabric Duotec ESD
Soft, breathable textile upholstery consisting of hard-wearing cover fabric and high-quality cold foam. The breathable upholstery ensures a pleasant seating climate even in summer and can absorb and release moisture. However, the textile upholstery is not washable.
Simple and clever: the interchangeable upholstery system
A special feature of the ESD NEON is the interchangeable upholstery system. Both the back and seat upholstery can be removed and replaced in just a few simple steps. With the ESD NEON and its interchangeable upholstery, you are focusing on sustainability and cost-effectiveness. If the upholstery is damaged or the chair is used in a different work area with different requirements, the upholstery can be replaced quickly without having to replace the entire chair.
Basic mechanisms for active-dynamic sitting
Permanent contact backrest...
... follows the user's movements and ensures that the back is always ideally supported. Weight regulation ensures that backrest resistance and body weight are always in balance. The permanent contact backrest is particularly suitable for predominantly forward-leaning work with little distance between the workpiece and the eyes (e.g. in precision mechanics or in the laboratory).
Synchronous technology...
... ensures active, dynamic sitting including weight regulation. The seat and backrest accompany the body as it moves. This creates a feeling that can probably best be described as “weightless gliding”. The synchronous technology really comes into its own in office-like work situations, when working at a computer screen and in frequently changing sitting positions.
