What is the difference between lumen and lux?
The unit of measurement lumen (lm) describes the luminous flux, how much light the light source emits in all directions. The more lumens, the brighter the light source appears. However, how bright the surface actually is depends on the distance between the luminaire and the work surface.
The illuminance on the work surface is measured in lux. It takes into account how much of the emitted light actually reaches the surface. The smaller the distance between the luminaire and the work surface, the higher the illuminance in lux.

Which color temperature is ideal for electronics work?
Choosing the right color temperature is crucial for electronics work. Illuminance in the range of 5,000 to 6,500 Kelvin is particularly suitable. This light color comes very close to natural daylight and ensures realistic color rendering - an important factor when it comes to reliably identifying color-coded components, conductor tracks or solder joints.
In addition, light with a high color temperature has an activating and concentration-enhancing effect, which is particularly beneficial for precise and prolonged activities in electronics production.
Models that either offer a fixed daylight color or can even be switched between different light colors are ideal - this allows the lighting to be flexibly adapted to different tasks and personal preferences.
