Cost-effective and durable ESD coating

The AstraStat ESD paint is a cost-effective and durable solution for electrostatic dissipation on insulating or low-resistance materials.

Application

The coating is used wherever insulating or poorly conductive materials need to be made electrically conductive. Typical areas of application include, for example:

  • Plastic surfaces and containers
  • Plastic sheets and components
  • Other insulating or poorly conductive materials

In addition, conductive materials such as steel or aluminium can also be treated to enable a controlled and particularly gentle ‘soft discharge’. Depending on the substrate, the use of a suitable adhesion primer may be necessary.

 Properties

  • 2-component, solvent-based PU coating
  • suitable for a wide range of substrates (including materials that are sometimes difficult to coat, such as metal, laminate, wood, plastic, PVC or GRP)
  • high mechanical strength and excellent chemical resistance
  • surface resistance of < 3.5 × 10⁷ Ω
  • permanently stable electrical properties, largely independent of humidity and temperature
  • integrated wide-spray nozzle for particularly fine atomisation of the coating particles and for uniform and controlled application
  • once activated, the contents of the can remain workable for approx. 5 hours
  • coverage: approx. 1–2 m² per 400 ml can
