Ionization test devices are used to check the function and efficiency of ionizing devices in ESD protection zones. In particular, they record the discharge time and the offset voltage (ion balance) to ensure the proper neutralization of electrostatic charges.
These measuring devices are an essential part of quality assurance in EPAs and support the standard-compliant implementation of ESD protection measures in accordance with IEC 61340-5-1.
The regular use of ionization test devices enables the early detection of deviations, for example due to dirty electrodes, faulty high-voltage generators or changes in ambient conditions.
This ensures the effectiveness of the ionization system and reliably minimizes the risk of electrostatic discharges to sensitive components.
