In electrostatically protected areas (EPA), the use of suitable cleaning equipment is necessary to avoid unwanted electrostatic charges. Conventional cleaning tools can generate static charges on contact with dissipative surfaces or through friction, which can lead to ESD damage to sensitive components. ESD-compliant cleaning trolleys, brooms and vacuum cleaners are designed to dissipate electrostatic charges in a controlled manner. Their use supports compliance with the requirements of DIN EN 61340-5-1, increases process safety and helps to maintain the function of sensitive electronic assemblies.
